Contrary to earlier rumors, merchants do not need to uninstall and reinstall the app; Google will handle the transition automatically. Ginny Marvin, Google Ads Liaison, confirmed that reinstalling the app currently triggers product ID formatting changes that can cause loss of historical performance data, a separate bug Google is fixing in the coming weeks.
